Search engines are very smart pieces of software. They were designed in such a way that they are very difficult to fool, and they are constantly being updated to ignore new methods of tricking them.
There are hundreds of dos and don’ts we could go through, but we’ll just list some of the most important don’ts:
1. Except for the keywords tag, your keywords should never appears in sequence one after another on the page. This indicates that your page may be spam
2. Don’t be tempted to keyword-stuff the page or hide the text by using the same colour as the background. Search engines can see this and they will mark it as spam. This will knock the page straight off the listings and make it very difficult to get it reinstated

3. Don’t submit pages with identical content. Duplicate pages will only go against you, so always make sure your content is unique and fresh
4. Don’t try to include content that has nothing to do with the page you’re on. This can also be seen as spamming
By following these simple rules, you will find your SEO efforts go a lot more smoothly and your results will be seen more quickly.
