Using Webinars As An Online Training Tool

People are now using online methods as training tools over holding real life training courses. We have seen a huge increase in the inclusion of videos within online content and anybody offering professional search engine optimisation services will be likely to advise you to include various formats as part of your content to increase your page ranking within SERPs. One method of informing people or training them on certain topics is by the use of webinars. Webinars are in fact just what they sound like, an online seminar. Great for displaying professional debates or discussions and also for using as a training tool. The problem that sometimes occurs with webinars is that they are rarely as successful as they should be.

Any web optimisation company will tell you that in order for a webinar to be successful it needs to be promoted in the correct way and the content needs to be interesting. If you are discussing a topic which you know will be of interest to an audience then you need to plan it carefully. Despite your knowledge of the topic probably being very good it is important that you still research your audience needs. Just because you know what you want to say does not mean that those are the things which your audience wants to hear.

Promoting your webinar is crucial and the usual approach is via email marketing. Emailing a database of existing members or consumers is very effective as if they are signed up to your site already then you instantly know they have an interest in the topic to start with. Ensure that any form of invitation requires a specific response so you are aware of numbers attending as ultimately you need to know that it is financially worth it for you.

You can also promote your webinars via your social media strategy and by incorporating it into your social media optimisation. Social networking sites give you an entire new audience and can also help generate word of mouth promotion amongst users, which is a great way to get more attendees to your webinar.

One of the main problems which occur with webinars is that companies get the attendees signed up, but then they do not actually turn up. Or even worse, they tune in but then disappear halfway through. Lack of attendees commonly occurs because people simply forget or are too busy and the webinar does not seem as important. Reminders and incentives are a good way to combat this and creating a catchy email marketing strategy is crucial.

If people turn off halfway through then you know you are in trouble. The problem here is not knowledge or content; it is the way in which it is delivered. Real life seminars in a room full of people are difficult to make engaging, so speaking to an audience via the internet is even trickier. Know your audience, create interaction and do not go on too long and you should find yourself with a very effective webinar.
