Searchengineoptimisation.co.uk, one of the UK’s leading SEO marketing agencies, comment on suggestions that have been proposed to help Twitter increase its revenue potential.
Twitter was recently valued as highly as $10billion amidst rumours that the micro-blogging behemoth was going to be taken over by Google or Facebook. Despite its valuation however, Twitter isn’t making as much money as it potentially could, with publications such as The Industry Standard questioning its long-term business model in May 2008.
Some ideas that have been posed to increase Twitter’s revenue potential, include giving brands the option to have a Facebook-style ‘page’ to help them create a proper, interactive user following and update it regularly with relevant content. Most suggestions have centred around providing exclusive content to users, and Searchengineoptimisation.co.uk feel that this would be a good way for companies to better engage with their followers.
“Dave Parfect of Facebook recently highlighted that if a company has 17,000 ‘likes’, that doesn’t mean they’re necessarily engaging with those people. The same principle applies to Twitter – though someone may have an enormous number of followers, it doesn’t mean the profile in question is interacting with them all in the appropriate fashion,” commented a spokesperson for Searchengineoptimisation.co.uk. “Being able to offer more branded content as opposed to the odd tweet now and then would be a great way to entice users to spread the word and share, whilst also attracting more key revenue to help bolster Twitter’s coffers.”

SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk, a leading SEO services company in the United Kingdom, believe that well-optimised videos on a website will become commonplace as part of future SEO campaigns, and will soon become a cornerstone for companies trying to differentiate themselves from their competition.
Google integrated video results into its universal search back in 2007 and companies are slowly starting to explore the benefits of optimising their media content to make their videos appear at the top of specific search queries. It is estimated that forty per cent of people currently searching on Google will see videos amalgamated into their search results.
Statistics also show that sixty-eight per cent of the top fifty online retailers in 2009 utilised video content – a jump of eighteen per cent from the previous year.
SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk predict that this trend will only increase, and that brands can incorporate videos across all areas of their site to complement their content, products and services. SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk believe that appropriately optimised video content can be a real boon for any website’s users as well as helping with search rankings.
“As search engine technology improves and videos appear more under listings whenever a search term is entered, more and more websites are recognising the positive effects having a video or multiple videos on their website can bring. It’ll be sooner rather than later that online videos become a bigger part of search engine optimisation,” commented a spokesperson for SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk. “Though more videos are appearing in search results all of the time, businesses still need to properly optimise their videos to see any kind of serious traffic increase because various factors determine how videos are ranked by search engines. By properly optimising your videos, incorporating video sitemaps, video mark-ups, syndication, appropriate tagging and more, the company in question will have a greater chance of their videos appearing towards the top of search results, and an even better chance of it going viral.”

SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk, a leading SEO services company in the United Kingdom, comment on the news that a full amalgamation of Bing and Yahoo! is imminent.
Tests throughout the month of August 2010 on organic search results show that Yahoo! Search has been powered by the Bing engine. SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk believe that when the full transition process is complete, searchers can probably expect to see a ‘Powered by Bing’ logo at the bottom of their organic Yahoo! search results. So far only seen in the United States and Canada, this also only refers to organic search results, with sponsored links and adverts managed separately.
When the transition is fully complete, SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk expect the search results ranking orders for organic results on Yahoo! and Bing to be exactly the same. Though Yahoo! will essentially be a different skin, the results will effectively be identical. Yahoo! are also reportedly currently testing the account migration tool on the sponsored, pay-per-click aspects of search marketing, and hope to release it in the coming weeks.
“What many are dubbing a complete handover seems almost to be finished – at least in North America. Our stance is that this can only be good news for the wider world of search as it provides some much-needed competition for Google with the joining of the other two main forces in search,” commented a spokesperson for SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk. “Though we’ll have to wait and see what the search engine optimisation implications are as this merger rolls out globally, we still fully expect most end users to stick with Google for now unless Bing brings something totally new to the table. The Yahoo! acquisition seems to be a step in the right direction though – only time will tell if their strategy is a success or not.”

SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk, a leading SEO services company in the United Kingdom, wish to highlight the benefits that webmasters can reap from their web optimisation campaign by using their own images instead of stock photographs from online archives.
Though it can often look impressive, stock photography is used by thousands of websites each and every day, leading to a lack of creativity and originality. SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk believe that this can put off eagle-eyed visitors to a website who recognise the image as stock and get the feeling that the company is being lazy with its design. The benefits of a company using their own visuals in their web campaigns are that they are free and there aren’t any copyright issues to worry about.
Having creative and user-friendly images may encourage visitors to a website to keep returning to view newly-updated content. It can also free up space – some stock photography websites will insist on a link back to their site in either the image description or alt tags. When a website uses their own images they will be able to optimise these specific areas as they wish, which is especially useful in a search engine optimisation campaign.
“Alt tags and descriptions on images are a small and yet significant part of SEO, and well-optimised images, along with all of the other aspects of a website and a carefully developed off-page SEO strategy, can help streamline a search marketing campaign,” commented a spokesperson for SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk. “It will be more effective however if you use your own images and give a creative, personal slant to your web presence. What search engines look for is the same as human visitors – useful, functional and high quality websites which provide a great user experience and valuable information, so we feel it is important that you don’t allow your images to let you down.”

SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk, a leading SEO services company, comment on recent speculation that Google is set to refine its local search listings and alter the way that people search for local services online.
Speculation has been rife across the internet that Google may be about to make changes to the way their local search listings are presented after they released a statement when presented with some screenshots of a new looking layout of results which some users experienced. Google commented: “It is an experiment – we’re continually trying out new tweaks to a portion of our users,” after they were sent user-made screenshots from a vigilant individual who noticed changes to her local results when she inputted a search query.
The most obvious changes are in regard to the location map, which, in the screenshots, is on the right of the screen and scrolls down the page along with the searcher. The listings are also larger and resemble normal web results whilst Google seems to pull Meta information from the site as well as review snippets. As one of the leading SEO agencies in the UK today, SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk feel this could make a difference to the way people use results, thus having an impact on the search engine optimisation industry.
“We think it’s great that Google are taking the time to work on improving local search – if these rumours turn out to carry weight, that is. It certainly looks encouraging and we’re optimistic that we’ll see these changes rolled out to more users sooner rather than later,” commented a spokesperson for SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk. “We’re great fans of targeting your SEO geographically, which can make all the difference to small businesses. The internet is such a huge marketplace that it’s easy to get swallowed up, so it’s crucial to define yourselves online through effective SEO which is targeted appropriately. Your web profile and online reputation can make all the difference to your success!”

SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk, a leading SEO services company, comment on the news that Google have finally launched the full version of the long-awaited changes to their search engine indexing structure, known as ‘Caffeine’.
Caffeine’s launch has been long anticipated by the SEO community for months, and Google have now announced that it has now been rolled out across the internet. Google describe it as a whole new indexing system for the web and claim that it is fifty per cent fresher than its previous index. What this means is that content added online will be searchable virtually instantly after it has been crawled, benefiting both web searchers and content owners.
Not only will content be available on a quicker basis for searchers but it also means that Google’s storage capacity has also increased. Its flexibility to store content such as images, videos, web pages and more has also greatly increased. SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk believe that this update will be of great relevance to the SEO industry in future months and predict further changes as searchers become used to faster ways of browsing.
“We have to stress that the release of Caffeine doesn’t signify any changes at all in the algorithm – although we’re still unsure as to how it will affect rankings further on down the line,” commented a spokesperson for SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk. “SEO is an ever-changing industry and new developments like this are being thrown up time after time. Although it’s a not really much of a surprise, those who aren’t as in tune with the industry will notice almost immediate changes, as should content owners. To surmise though, those who use Google on a regular basis are the real winners here, and we look forward to exploring the changes in the coming months.”

SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk, a leading SEO services company, are sharing their tips on how to properly optimise videos posted on YouTube so that they can add benefit to a search engine optimisation campaign.
SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk themselves have a video blog, featured videos hosted on YouTube, which offers the latest hints and tips on how to improve a web marketing campaign and search engine rankings. They feel that YouTube is an excellent communication tool for businesses looking to promote their products and services, helping to build brand image and enhance reputation as well as connecting with viewers in a new way.
One of the SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk ideas for how a company can maximise the appeal of their YouTube presence is by always enabling the embed option on their videos. A video has a better chance of going viral and spreading the message to a wider audience if the option to embed onto other websites, such as blogs and forums, is present. SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk believe that a website’s relevant SEO keywords should be included in the video description and tags so it can appear in search results. They also stress the importance of having a powerful and relevant title for their videos – a keyword inserted into the title tag will also give it greater scope for SEO success.
“It’s important to mention that if a company is making regular videos for their website, they need to make sure the media is clearly visible to their user base. There’s no point in posting videos onto your website if they are hard to find and don’t hold your customers’ interest,” comments a spokesperson for SearchEngineOptimisation.co.uk. “Post your latest video onto your homepage as well as letting your YouTube subscribers know every time a new one is published. Viral is the key word here, if your videos have something to say and are always interesting then you will build a core following over time, enhanced by them appearing in searches for keywords and your company name. If you have the embed option active, they can also share your video across the wider internet, increasing your exposure further.”
