Prince William and Kate Middleton’s very royal wedding is only a couple of weeks away! Not just Britons – international interest has reached fever pitch for the big day, with many websites and businesses looking to capitalise on the feel-good factor as much as they possibly can.
Yahoo, for instance, has launched a themed royal wedding website which can be found at http://royalwedding.yahoo.com/. The web presence has been specifically tailored for ten countries including the UK, the United States, France and more. It features photos, the latest news, a guestbook for well-wishers to sign and more.
Describing the website, Yahoo says in a statement: “With the wedding of Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton less than a month away, people’s interest in the big event is growing exponentially.”

Yahoo’s strategy is obvious – by setting up a specialist web portal entirely centralised on the royal wedding, they’re hoping to pull in as much interested traffic as possible and keep them as long-term users of their site and services. And who can blame them! The event itself is estimated to pull in an incredible 2.5billion viewers on television. Businesses would be foolish NOT to try and get a percentage of that pie!
If a large event or something similar is in the pipeline that grabs people’s attention and captures their imagination, be a part of it! Theme your website and SEO campaign to show that you’re part of the party. Not only can the economical benefits be rewarding as we’ve mentioned above, but it can also show that you are a business with your finger on the pulse and up to date with current affairs.
Updating the theme of your website and content to be part of a big occasion is a fun way to attract visitors and keep them coming back in the future. We wish William and Kate all the best on their big day!
